My son is 12 years old and also with 22q deletion syndrome. He also has speech impediment and learning disability. When I found out my son had 22q I was terrified because knowing what I went through in my life I didn't want him to go through the same situations as I did. I've tried talking to him about 22q, but he is still to young to understand what it is. I found out that he had 22q when I was pregnant because it's a 50/50 chance and because I wanted to be prepared for what's ahead of me in his life. He doesn't eat a whole lot kind of like me. He can go a whole day without eating until supper time. He's going to be 10 years old this year and I am so very proud of him for being so strong through everything hes been through in life. I wouldn't be where I am at today if it wasn't for my son believing in me. I love him so very much and I don't know what I do without him. I wouldn't trade being his mother for anything. He's my reason why I stay so strong and my reason why I want to achieve so much in life!
He loves to play video games his favorite is Fortnite. Also, loves to be outside during the summer and plays sports. He plays basketball and baseball. His favorite baseball team is the Cardinals. He loves watching movies and his favorite ever since he was a baby is Toy Story, but nothing will never beat Spiderman! He absolutely loves to swim he could swim all day if he could.
